Early Intervention
We have begun treatment on children as young as 5 years old. When certain dental problems are detected early, we have the ability to take advantage of the natural growth pattern of your child. This helps to reduce the need for extractions and jaw joint problems later on. We can also detect early problems with your child’s airway (a very commonly missed issue) and intervene before it interferes with facial growth or creates problems with sleep apnea later in life.
Adult Orthodontics
We have treated numerous adults with excellent results! Our adult patients, like our children, will enjoy the comfort of private treatment rooms! You will never have to worry about the embarrassment of sitting next to another patient during your treatment. You will always be able to ask questions and receive advice from us in a private setting. We are one of the few orthodontic practices that does not use an open forum setting when treating our patients!
Braces are tiny appliances bonded to each tooth. They are connected by a wire and elastics to move teeth into the position we want them to be. They can be made of metal, plastic, or ceramics. There are pros and cons to each.
Metal brackets
These are by far the most common. They are the least expensive, they have the best mechanics, and they offer the most options for treatment of any of the bracket types. They are metal though, and may be less esthetic than the other choices.
Plastic brackets
Plastic brackets are also fairly inexpensive. They do not typically have the precision of tooth movement offered by the metal brackets, but they can be a little less noticeable when bonded in place.
Ceramic brackets
Ceramic brackets are somewhat more expensive. They tend to be more precise then the plastic brackets, but not as much as the metal ones. They have higher friction against the wire, which may slow treatment a little. They are tooth colored, and offer the most esthetics of any of the bond.
Invisalign
It is the most well known of all the clear aligner systems available. Unlike some of the systems out there, an experienced dentist always supervises Invisalign patients.
